The Senior Open-Source Analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth analysis of intelligence and information derived from publicly available sources to assess, interpret, forecast, and explain regional and functional national security issues. This role provides analytic support to intelligence collection, operations, and investigations, ensuring that insights directly inform defense and homeland security missions.

The analyst applies both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, integrating academic, commercial, and government sources to strengthen analytic tradecraft. The role also requires the ability to critically evaluate intelligence products for analytic rigor, cogent arguments, and tradecraft standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced open-source research and analysis to identify, assess, and explain emerging threats and security developments.
  • Exploit publicly available information (PAI), including global and regional social media and digital platforms, to support investigations, collections, and operational planning.
  • Provide analytic support to all-source intelligence products, ensuring findings meet tradecraft standards and decision-maker requirements.
  • Employ qualitative and quantitative analytic methodologies to assess data and forecast trends.
  • Evaluate and review analytic products for clarity, rigor, and evidentiary support.
  • Maintain familiarity with and apply advanced Internet-based research techniques, including Boolean logic, specialized databases, and industry resources.
  • Support the integration of OSINT findings with all-source intelligence to develop actionable insights.
  • Stay current on developments in academic and professional communities that influence intelligence tradecraft.
  • Produce professional, high-quality deliverables, reports, and briefings for executive-level stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Demonstrated expertise in Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) research, collection management, or analysis.
    • Experience accessing, researching, and exploiting global and regional social media and digital platforms.
    • At least 2 years of experience with OSINT tools and advanced Internet-based research methods (e.g., Boolean logic, search optimization, commercial/industry-based databases).
    • Experience conducting open-source research, all-source intelligence analysis, or targeting.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce executive-level analytic reports and briefings.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-pressure environments.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work experience with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) or related federal law enforcement/intelligence missions.
  • Knowledge of crypto/virtual assets and their application in OSINT and investigative problem sets.
  • Experience with integrating OSINT into broader defense or homeland security intelligence frameworks.
  • Master’s degree in International Affairs, Security Studies, Political Science, Data Analytics, or related discipline.
